Lexia provides fun, interactive programmes to develop children's literacy skills.  At Wybers Wood Academy it is used over the academic year to support selected groups of children at different times; some may use it for the whole year, some may be asked to use it for a few weeks or over the holiday period.

Children are selected for Lexia based on a wide range of criteria: some children need extra practice in reading or comprehension, some may need support in learning their synthetic phonics, some may use parts of the programme if they are new to English. Class teachers nominate children to use the Lexia programme in consultation with our Literacy co-ordinator and our SEN co-ordinator and usage is reviewed each half term.

If you have concerns that your child is not making progress in their reading please talk to your class teacher as we have a wide range of literacy strategies available.

If we recommend that your child accesses Lexia you can download the app illustrated below and use the log in details provided by the school to help your child at home.
