    Top of the class!

    Pupils and staff are again celebrating outstanding achievement and strong progress at a Grimsby primary academy.  


    Wybers Wood Primary Academy saw numbers meeting the expected standard in reading, writing and maths rise by 8% over the past 12 months to 78%, significantly above the national average. 


    Principal Carol Walker said everyone was delighted with the outcomes.

  • Royal Wedding Celebrations

    Pupil & Staff enjoyed a presentation by School Council, explaining some important facts leading up to the Wedding of His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales and Ms Meghan Markle on 19th May 2018.


  • Panto Time, Oh no it isn't!

    Pupils enjoyed watching staff perform Panto for them followed by christmas sing a long.

    Wybers Wood supported this year's official, Wear it Pink Day, raising awareness & funds for Breast Cancer.

  • Happy Retirement Mrs Hopkin

    Our fabulous Mrs Hopkin is retiring today.  She has been associated with the school for 30 years through her own children, the board of governors and then as an employee.  Mrs Hopkin has also run the School Council for many years.  We will miss her but wish her well and lots of relaxation in retirement.

  • Sal's Shoes

    We are happy to support Sal’s Shoes –

    If you have any children’s footwear that are no longer needed, eg. sandals, slippers, trainers, boots, dance shoes, football boots please help this charity by donating them.  Larger sizes are acceptable but all footwear must be child appropriate (no heels). Please pair the shoes together with rubber bands and drop them off in the collection box in the school reception. To find out more about the charity go to


  • Last School Council Meeting of the Year

    We celebrated a fabulous year of school council today.  Our councillors have worked so hard and been the voice of the school in making some brilliant decisions. 

    The only sad thing is Mrs Hopkin will be leaving us at the end of term.  We will miss her very much and can't thank her enough for running School Council for many years.  Enjoy your retirement Mrs Hopkin!


  • Goodbye.... Ms Lawson

    Staff and pupils said goodbye to Ms Lawson today.  She has worked at Wybers Wood for 9 years and we would like to wish her all the best in the future and congratulations for her wedding that is taking place in the summer.

    Year 6 pupils enjoyed a fun day at Eden Camp as part of their topic work.

  • World Cup Final!

    The sun was shining for our World Cup Finals match today.  Excellent play and spectating from everyone involved.

  • Well done Mr Wrigley!

    Mr Wrigley completed the London Marathon in 4hrs and 50 minutes, running for the Blind Dog Charity who clearly appreciated his efforts.

  • House Teams Fun Run

  • Ian's Mobile Farm comes to Wybers

    We were visited by some lovely animals today including calves, goats, ponies, rabbits, chickens, a tortoise and the cutiest lambs you can imagine.  The children learnt lots of different things about the animals including what they eat and how they live on the farm.

  • We say goodbye to Janet

    Our lovely cleaner Janet retired today after nearly 30 years of keeping the school sparkly and clean!  We will miss her very much but wish her all the best in her retirement.

  • Early Years Open Week

  • Panto comes to Wybers
